Renaissance Group is building the largest and most experienced team of world class local and international professionals dedicated solely to SSA. We are creating a full fledged pan regional IB, Asset management, and merchant banking operation run by Africans in Africa.
We currently have in excess of 90 professionals dedicated to our SSA African franchised based in four locations, Lagos Nigeria, Nairobi Kenya, Harare Zimbabwe, and Johannesburg South Africa. Lagos will be the hub for our West African operations whilst Nairobi will be the hub for our Eastern Central and Southern African operations.
We expect the dedicated number of professionals to be in excess of 150 by the end of 2008.
Renaissance created over $2.5 billion demand in two highly successful equity capital markets transactions: the international US$300 million equity offering for Nigeria's United Bank for Africa in April 2007 and the US$300 million equity offering for Nigeria's Access Bank in July 2007. This has demonstrated Renaissance Group's far reaching scope in developing and attracting capital inflows into the region.
Renaissance is seeking to continue to expand its scope in the SSA and in 2008 we will look to establish permanent offices in Francophone and Lusaphone regions where we will attract hire and train the best of local professional talent, tooled with a world class platform.
